I want a ship that's westward bound to plough the rolling sea
To the blessed land of Room Enough beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars."
Henry Van Dyke
Happy 4th of July
From All of Us Here In The House of Edward!
Sweet of you to think of us...but truly the rooms have shrunk since that poem was penned, and did you know that, although it's true "Today is Independence Day. On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously adopted the Declaration of Independence, and the United States officially broke from the rule of England. But, the document was approved and signed on July 2, and was formally only formally adopted on July 4. John Adams always felt that the Second of July was America's true birthday, and he refused to appear at Fourth of July celebrations for the rest of his life in protest." Ha, the crack in the Liberty bell is really real. Personally, I'm looking forward to the 5th when the fumes have evaporated, and all the yahoos gone back to their various homes.
