Oh, What A Beautiful Morning!

There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow,
There’s a bright, golden haze on the meadow,
The corn is as high as an elephant’s eye,
And it looks like it’s climbing clear up to the sky.....

Oh, what a beautiful morning!
Oh, what a beautiful day!
I got a beautiful feeling,
Everything’s going my way.....

  11. So apt Pamela. I've just watched the Inauguration Ceremony and smiled throughout. How wonderful it was. I loved the little slip Obama made as he was sworn in.

Today I could wish I was American.

  13. Pamela, Childe Hassam is one of my favorite paintings. I have the Flags on the Waldorf lithograph and I love it. Lucky President Obama (and all Presidents) to get to see the Flags painting in the White House. I would have it in my bedroom as Kennedy did or in the Oval Office.

  14. I'm just so glad we didn't get the other guys for another four years. Obama is smarter, more capable, and still just one man.

  15. That rather says it all!

Can't remember the last time, if ever, I thought it might be rather good to be American...

  19. Pamela - I LOVE visiting your blog! There is always something to delight and today's is no exception. What a wonderful painting paired with such a deceptively simple but quite, quite apposite piece of writing. A great day indeed, and you capture the feeling perfectly.
