Early Christmas Presents
Edward has been walking around this past week
with a permanent plum red lipstick mark atop his furry white head.
I just keep hugging him and planting a kiss right there.
For I will tell you the truth:
even better than writing the book and seeing it published more beautifully than I'd dreamed
is knowing people are loving it.
It just makes me so happy.
Reading the generous posts written by bloggers I adore brings a tear to my eye
and puts an extra spring in my step.
I wonder, can lipstick permanently stain white fur?
Thank you dear Jeanne, Brooke, Helen and Karena!

It sounds like your feet are not touching the ground as you float joyfully around, only pausing to plant kisses. Your book sounds charming.
ReplyDeleteI can just envision the little red spot on Edward's head, it will probably fade to pink before it's completely gone. So happy to hear your book is so well received...no surprise from this loyal reader. I have it on my wish list for Christmas.

Lucky Edward to be the recipient of such joy and happiness. Sounds like you truly have a spring in your step in this "pinch me" moment that is so well deserved!
ReplyDeleteThere are moments of perfection in life, when they present themselves one must simply hold still and take it all to the fullest. And nothing is sweeter then to share your joy with Edward and us!
ReplyDeleteYou give the early gifts so generously yourself with your words, thoughts and ways to spread them....
Thank you, Pamela!

ReplyDeleteP.S. I can think of n or better stain then the one upon your sweet Edward's head.
I got up this morning thinking of Edward. I did, I promise, isnt' that weird. I felt poorly for our little Sophie at the foot of the bed that I was thinking about Edward.
