Oh, my. I am just learning of her death here. Thank you for the lovely tribute. She was so lovely in Lassie Come Home - and all the movies that followed.
She was the most beautiful as a young star - her personal life and supposed loves (many) became fodder for the media which to me took the edge off her acting ability and movie star status. Redeemed later for her work with AIDS related causes, she was amazing.......and she battled so many of her own life-threatening medical problems also!
RIP Elizabeth - you were one of a kind with violet eyes.
What lovely words Pamela! I was shocked to find out of her death yesterday, she seems to have figured throughout our lives, and never lovelier than when she posed for this photograph. Beautiful child.
Don't you just love this photo Pamela? What an icon Elizabeth was. Remember all the dramas with Richard Burton? Talk about stormy! They loved each other madly, I felt sad for her when he passed away. The same sort of feeling for Katherine Hepburn when Spencer Tracy died. Elizabeth Taylor was of an era ...the golden age of Hollywood which I still consider one of the best. I wished you lived close by, we could have a movie marathon of all the great Hollywood classics. Actually.....we still could :)
Still loving Hector but I admit I had a little peak at what is in store for me. Bad habit of mine, I am one of those people who reads the last page too!
Best wishes Pamela for a wonderful day...as we reflect on a great woman..
sorry I've been rather absent of late but I felt abnormally sad about her passing away. I am not normally a celebrity person but she had so much life force and I admired that she kept believing in love

ReplyDeleteThere are no Taylors or Hepburns now among our young actresses.

A fascinating & beautiful woman and a lovely tribute, Pamela. I'm hoping for a few rainy days to stay in and watch some of her films again.
ReplyDeleteI'm too young to remember her as a current movie actress, but old enough to recognize that she was one of the icons, the all time greats.
ReplyDelete~~~ beautiful
