When I first met my former boss I was middle aged and he - aged. As I walked into the meeting room for a brief second he lifted his head and it was the face of a young warrior and was blue in color and the clothing was not a typical lawyer garb (senior partner...) for that split second it was tartan. Then in less than a millisecond flash I saw an old gentleman in a three-piece suit with school tie. I learned many years later that my ancestry is all Scots and my family was situate in the same locale as his those centuries past. I never forgot that experience and it was over two decades ago but the profound sense of discovery against disbelief and then acceptance lingers to this day.Sarahkatenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5917331337767835985.post-75134252805708630082017-05-28T23:25:45.994-04:002017-05-28T23:25:45.994-04:00I spent an afternoon last week re-watching Out of ...I spent an afternoon last week re-watching Out of Africa - Dinesen's quote so appropriate to your words here, Pamela. The lines from “Out of Africa” are among the most poignant I have ever read. It may be a bit whimsical to imagine that we leave something of ourselves in places we love, but it’s a captivating thought nonetheless. I’m taken in by a sense of wistfulness.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13204127165550190242noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5917331337767835985.post-20526464648280134172017-05-23T10:01:39.131-04:002017-05-23T10:01:39.131-04:00I think the pull you feel, are drawn to there, sho...I think the pull you feel, are drawn to there, shows memories of times past there.
